The Bookshop at the Tinners’ Rabbit is an award-winning independent bookshop in the heart of Ulverston.

We stock not only the best-sellers but an eclectic mix of  interesting titles you may not find on a shelf anywhere else. The Bookshop is housed in a 200 year old building with lots of atmosphere.   It is a wonderful higgledy piggledy sort of place with open fires and cosy corners where you can browse in comfort. We pride ourselves on excellent service with particular expertise in children’s literature and local history and walking guides.

The Bookshop at the Tinners’ Rabbit is a meeting point for groups of all kinds.  We are linked to Word Market, South Cumbria’s Literature Festival. We support writers, readers and audiences in the area by bringing in authors for books signings and literary events. We enjoy a good relationship with local schools and run three children’s reading groups. 

Opening Hours are 9.30am-5pm Monday to Saturday.  We do not open on Sundays and Bank Holidays.
